This shop owner has been searching for a special kind of pocket knife that not only meets the needs of everyday use but also bears a unique logo representing his brand.
He chose a model and made a special request to us— the blade must be made of 8Cr13MoV steel, and it had to be engraved with his logo, needing the amount of 100.

The Challenge
While 8Cr13MoV is not an uncommon material, it still presents some challenges when used to make small folding knives. Why is it?
Our knife makers told us that the hardness requirements of 8Cr13MoV are high and the material was too brittle and prone to breaking, so they can’t make it to the customer’s design.
But when we heard that a neighboring factory had someone who could achieve this technology, we immediately went to ask that expert, but the sampling cost of that factory was beyond the customer’s budget.
Just when we were about to give up, we found a factory that had these knife blades in stock, but the handles already bore someone else’s logo.
The Solution
Linda, our professional salesman who was contacting the customer, proposed a clever alternative.
Since our factory had 5Cr13MoV blades in stock, she suggested replacing the 8Cr13MoV with 5Cr13MoV. This not only solved the problem of the blade being prone to breakage but also allowed for the creation of handles that could be engraved with the customer’s logo.
The customer agreed to this plan, and soon we were in the sampling phase. The sample was well-received by the customer, who agreed to place a large order later.
However, the story did not end there.
After the goods were shipped, the customer reported receiving only 95 knives. Linda responded immediately, and after an investigation, we found out that it was not our side that caused the shortage but the courier company, which had lost some items during transportation.
“Hi Linda, I’m sorry it took me so long to tell you this because my dad just counted all the knives and only 95 of them arrived to his shop. We don’t know where they got stolen. while being shipped.”
Nevertheless, based on LeeKnives’ considerate after-sales service, Linda still offered to work with the customer to select a better shipping company. Together, they resolved the issue of the missing items.
“l am so sorry to hear that ,if was stole while shipping ,i will give you one better dealing for you ,let me check that real situation first.”

The ending to this story is a happy one.
