Flatware Buying Guide for Sellers

Despite there being countless types of flatware, most of them can be classified under three groups: spoon, fork, and knife. Flatwares that are excluded from the three categories are either culturally representative (i.e. chopsticks) , or have specific uses (i.e. straws, ladles, etc). Read this article to learn more.

The samples are made from different types of stainless steel. Namely, 13/0, 18/0, 18/8, and 18/10 stainless steel. The first number indicates their chromium content, and the second one nickel.

The four steel types share similar corrosion resistance. But the nickel elements in 18/8 and 18/10 steel will increase durability, weight, and price of the flatware. While 13/0 and 18/0 steel are less durable, lighter, and much more affordable.

We are resourceful. Even though we do not manufacture flatware per se, we work with reputable factories that are experts in this area. We are communicative, attentive, and will always work to meet your best interests.

LeeKnives also provides additional services such as logo printing, custom packaging, and even allows you to determine the finishing process of the flatware.

As we’ve mentioned above, you can choose to laser engrave your logos onto the flatware, make personalized packaging, and change flatware designs. The design options include but are not limited to:

  • Patterns, ornaments, handle designs.
  • Flatware with different finish and colors: Matte finish, hammered finish, etc.
  • Shape of the flatware.

The potential of selling flatware is high, as it is a necessity for many households. Not only for domestic use, your clientele may also include restaurants, school cafeterias, and business organizations.

A standard 3-piece flatware set should include one dinner knife, one dinner fork, and one tablespoon. A teaspoon or dessert spoon often fills the spot for 4-piece sets, and a 5-piece sets will have an extra salad fork.

But there’s not a rule set in stone that prohibits you from including other serving pieces. For instance, if you want to appeal to oriental customers, chopsticks are an obligatory pick.

The two words are often used interchangeably, there is only one slight difference. Flatware refers to any type of eating utensil, regardless of the material it is made of. Silverware, on the other hand, specifically refers to eating utensils that are made of silver, or silver-plated metal.
