10 Kitchen Knife Set Manufacturers and Brands for Wholesale Buyers

Knife forging at the LeeKnives factory in Yangjiang

A knife set can look good in a photograph and still be a poor wholesale purchase. The selection may not suit your customers, the box may be expensive to ship, or being unable to replace one damaged knife may force you to replace a complete set.

Choosing kitchen knife set manufacturers starts with the buying route. A private-label business needs control over the design and packaging. A kitchenware retailer may prefer established brands with a clear trade account and a useful selection of matching products. Those are different requirements, even when the finished sets look similar.

This guide compares ten manufacturers and brands by their range, purchasing options and suitability for different buyers. Each profile includes one representative set to make the comparison concrete.

This guide is published by LeeKnives and includes our own products alongside third-party options. Selections use public specifications and sourcing information, rather than independent hands-on testing. Entries are grouped by sourcing route and are not a quality ranking.

Choose your sourcing route first

For your own branded range, look for a manufacturer that can agree on blade specifications, handle materials, logos, packaging and repeat-order requirements. For branded resale, establish the trade relationship before building a sales forecast around a consumer-store price.

The table refers to the representative sets described below. US prices, availability and supplier time estimates are current as of October 29, 2026. Prices exclude tax and delivery, with sale and comparison prices identified separately. These are public retail references, not wholesale quotations or evidence of resale authorization.

OEM and private-label manufacturing

1. LeeKnives for a set built around your own brand

LeeKnives AUS-10 olive wood kitchen knife set with six knives scissors and a leather roll

LeeKnives has manufactured knives in Yangjiang since 1993. Its kitchen knife set range includes compact combinations and larger collections, with stainless and clad-steel blades and choices such as G10, olive wood and stabilized-wood handles.

The purchasing route depends on how much you want to change. The private-label service covers branding an existing product through logos and packaging. OEM manufacturing supports changes to materials, dimensions, blade shape and construction, while ODM development includes design work and prototypes. This suits retailers and distributors developing their own range rather than buying another brand’s finished assortment.

A representative option is the LeeKnives AUS-10 Olive Wood 8-Piece Kitchen Knife Set (LKKSE10009). It contains chef, slicing, bread, boning, utility and paring knives, plus kitchen scissors and a buffalo leather knife roll. The blades use an AUS-10 core with stainless-steel cladding. This gives a buyer a broader preparation assortment and portable storage in one coordinated design.

The published MOQ is “From 200 pc.” That means pieces, not an automatic commitment to 200 complete sets. The product page permits individual or bundled purchases; changes to the combination, replacement knives and repeat orders still need agreement. Prices are quoted for the specification and quantity.

For this model, the supplier estimates 7–25 days for samples, 3–15 days for wholesale orders and 25–45 days for customization of 500–2,000 pieces. Larger custom orders are negotiated. These are supplier estimates; sample approval and transport also need to fit the launch schedule.

Established brands for resale

2. WÜSTHOF for a coordinated German-made assortment

WÜSTHOF Gourmet three-piece starter knife set

WÜSTHOF offers assorted knife sets, block sets and a block-building option, alongside individual knives. Its collections give a kitchenware retailer several ways to build a branded assortment, from a compact starter purchase to a larger countertop display.

Customers can start with a small set and add individual knives or storage from the range. The block builder offers another way to choose a WÜSTHOF-branded combination, while retailers purchase through an agreed trade channel.

The Gourmet 3-Piece Starter Set (1125060308) is the $185 example. It combines an 8-inch chef’s knife, 8-inch bread knife and 4½-inch utility knife. The official specification identifies non-forged construction and manufacture in Germany.

This is a useful bread-and-preparation assortment without a storage block. It lacks a small paring knife, so retailers serving customers who peel and trim by hand may want to stock one alongside it.

Need More Control Than Branded Resale Allows?

Fixed assortments, resale restrictions and difficult replenishment can limit your margins. Build your own knife set with LeeKnives OEM & ODM—customize the knives, materials, branding and packaging at factory-direct pricing.

3. Lamson for American-made ranges and a dealer route

Lamson Vintage three-piece cook's knife set with walnut handles

Lamson’s set collection includes Vintage and Premier Forged options, compact cook’s sets, carving combinations and larger block sets. Walnut and synthetic handle options provide different merchandising choices within the brand.

The company accepts dealer applications, giving retailers a defined starting point for a trade relationship. Its American-made positioning can suit shops whose customers actively seek a domestic manufacturing story.

The Vintage 3-Piece Cook’s Knife Set is $204.99 on sale against a regular $256.99. It includes an 8-inch chef’s knife, 6-inch utility knife and 3½-inch paring knife, with walnut or Midnight G10 handles. The Massachusetts-made knives use American high-carbon stainless steel and have a stated hardness of 58 HRC. Select the finish before comparing quotations.

Lamson also offers Sharp for Life sharpening. Sharpening is complimentary for eligible Lamson knives, but customers pay freight both ways and serrated edges are excluded. This gives retailers a defined after-sales service to explain to customers.

4. HENCKELS for a broad household knife-set range

HENCKELS Classic three-piece starter chef knife set

HENCKELS’ US knife-set collection spans small starter combinations, block sets, drawer-storage sets and self-sharpening blocks. Classic, Statement, Modernist and other lines serve different budgets and storage preferences.

That breadth suits a retailer building several household price points under one brand. Construction and origin vary by collection, so compare the individual lines before deciding which belong in the same assortment.

The Classic 3-Piece Starter Chef Knife Set (31425-000) is currently $124.99 and in stock. It contains a 4-inch paring knife, 6-inch utility knife and 8-inch chef’s knife. These are fully forged knives made in Spain from German stainless steel.

This is a straightforward preparation set for customers who already have storage or a bread knife. Its chef, utility and paring combination covers large and small preparation tasks without adding a countertop block.

5. Victorinox for practical Swiss-made kitchen combinations

Victorinox Swiss Classic five-piece kitchen knife set in its retail packaging

Victorinox’s cutlery range includes individual preparation knives, kitchen sets, steak knives and blocks. Swiss Classic provides a practical range for everyday cooking, with different blade shapes and straight or wavy edges.

Retailers and institutional buyers can compare small preparation bundles with more complete sets, then identify individual models for their assortment. This is especially useful when customers value straightforward task coverage and compact storage.

The Swiss Classic 5-Piece Kitchen Set (6.7133.5G) is listed at $99.99. It contains a chef’s knife, bread knife, straight and wavy paring knives, and a wavy table knife. All five pieces are knives.

Victorinox identifies the set as Swiss-made, non-forged and dishwasher-safe. Its purchasing appeal is a useful assortment without a bulky block; the main trade question is which matching individual models your supplier can replenish.

Need More Control Than Branded Resale Allows?

Fixed assortments, resale restrictions and difficult replenishment can limit your margins. Build your own knife set with LeeKnives OEM & ODM—customize the knives, materials, branding and packaging at factory-direct pricing.

6. GLOBAL for Japanese-style sets with several storage options

GLOBAL G-2538 three-piece knife set

GLOBAL’s official US set collection covers small knife combinations, block sets, magnetic-bar sets and drawer sets across several lines. This lets a specialist cooking retailer compare both the knife mix and the way it will be displayed or stored.

The US distribution route supplies GLOBAL-branded products. Its distinctive all-metal appearance gives specialist retailers an alternative to wood- and synthetic-handled collections.

The Classic 3-Piece Knife Set (G-2538) is listed at $299.95. It combines the G-2 8-inch chef’s knife, GS-5 5½-inch vegetable knife and GS-38 3½-inch paring knife.

The vegetable knife gives this assortment a different purpose from a chef, bread and utility combination. It suits buyers who want that preparation focus and GLOBAL’s distinctive handle design. Customers needing a bread knife or storage will require a different set or an additional purchase.

7. Shun for premium Japanese knife sets

Shun Classic five-piece starter block set showing three knives honing steel and bamboo block

Shun offers compact starter sets, block sets and student sets. Its Classic range includes individual knife models as well as coordinated combinations, making it relevant to specialist retailers serving customers who want to build a Japanese knife collection.

The current Classic 5-Piece Starter Block Set (DMS0530) is listed at a $439.95 special price against a regular $685, but is out of stock. That availability matters more than the advertised saving when planning an opening order. Shun asks buyers ordering more than five of an item to contact its team and says additional discounts do not apply to bulk purchases.

The set contains an 8-inch chef’s knife, 6-inch utility knife and 3½-inch paring knife, plus a honing steel and bamboo block. The knives have a proprietary VG-MAX cutting core with 34 layers of stainless Damascus cladding on each side. The knives are made in Japan; the block and honing steel are made in China.

This is a premium countertop assortment, with room in the block to expand. Compare the three actual knives and included storage, rather than treating “five-piece” as five blades or assuming that a future restock date is guaranteed.

8. Messermeister for premium sets with a wholesale application

Messermeister Oliva Elite three-piece starter set with olive wood handles

Messermeister’s knife-set range includes starter, carving and outdoor combinations, while its block collections offer larger assortments. Oliva Elite, Meridian Elite and other lines give retailers choices in handle material, presentation and price position.

Its wholesale account process explicitly invites kitchenware stores, retailers, corporate-gifting businesses, culinary schools and restaurants. Applicants provide business information and await approval. This is a concrete trade route; account prices and minimum orders still need written confirmation.

The Oliva Elite 3-Piece Starter Set (E/6000-3S) is $359.95, with a $409.85 comparison price. It includes an 8-inch chef’s knife, 6-inch utility knife and 3½-inch paring knife. The Solingen-made blades use 1.4116 steel at a stated 58 HRC, with olive-wood handles.

The wood and presentation suit a premium retail or gifting assortment. Natural grain varies, and hand washing is required, making this a better fit for customers comfortable caring for wood-handled knives.

Need More Control Than Branded Resale Allows?

Fixed assortments, resale restrictions and difficult replenishment can limit your margins. Build your own knife set with LeeKnives OEM & ODM—customize the knives, materials, branding and packaging at factory-direct pricing.

9. Mercer Culinary for foodservice and culinary-school assortments

Mercer Renaissance six-piece knife block set

Mercer Culinary’s knife-set catalog includes Renaissance, Genesis and Millennia combinations, with blocks, magnetic boards and portable knife rolls. This makes it a useful brand to compare for culinary programs, working kitchens and retailers serving professional cooks.

The purchasing route is through a foodservice distributor or dealer carrying the specified Mercer models. A school may value a portable roll; a retailer may prefer a block for display. The storage formats make the range relevant to both teaching and retail assortments.

The Renaissance 6-Piece Knife Block Set (M23500) contains five knives for chef’s work, bread, boning, utility and paring, plus a stainless-steel-and-tempered-glass block. It uses forged high-carbon German steel and Delrin handles. WebstaurantStore’s dealer listing shows $218.99.

The boning knife makes this a broader working assortment than a basic three-knife starter. Mercer limits its NSF certification statement to the knives; that should not become a certification claim for the whole block assembly.

10. Tramontina for household and hospitality purchasing

Tramontina Professional three-piece forged essential knife set

Tramontina offers kitchen knives, carving combinations and steak sets within a wider cookware and tabletop business. Its US B2B store includes PRO Series Forged, Professional, Polywood, Diamant and Churrasco cutlery, and directs prospective partners to a sales inquiry questionnaire.

That breadth may suit retailers and hospitality buyers who want to coordinate cutlery with cookware and tabletop purchases. The B2B account offers a commercial purchasing route separate from the consumer store.

The Professional 3-Piece Forged Essential Knife Set (80008/015DS) is $89.95 and available to order online. The US listing specifies a 4-inch paring knife, 8-inch bread knife and 8-inch chef’s knife, made in Brazil, with forged high-carbon steel and full-tang construction.

This gives a retailer three distinct preparation functions at a lower public price than several examples above. It includes a bread knife instead of the mid-sized utility knife found in many three-piece starter sets.

Compare the full set before comparing the quote

A set’s piece count can hide its real purpose. Six useful knives and two accessories serve a different customer from three knives in a large block. Start with cooking tasks, storage and the price your customer is willing to pay.

For a general starter assortment, compare chef’s, paring and bread functions. A meat-focused buyer may need boning and slicing knives; a specialist vegetable range may favor a vegetable knife. Count scissors, rolls, blocks and honing tools separately so the product title, photograph and packing list agree.

Steel grade alone does not describe finished performance. Heat treatment, blade geometry and finishing also matter. Record steel origin and finished-product origin separately, and make care instructions specific to the chosen handles and construction.

What to include in a wholesale request

Send each supplier the same brief. Otherwise, one may price loose knives while another includes printed boxes, inserts and storage.

Item to specifyWhat the quotation should confirm
Set contentsNamed knife types, sizes, accessories and units per package
Order quantityFinished sets and pieces per SKU; opening and repeat-order minimums
SpecificationSteel, agreed hardness, geometry, handle, finish and manufacturing origin
BrandingLogo method, artwork approval, packaging and any tooling charges
SamplingSample price, timing, revisions and approval standard
Commercial termsUnit prices, resale permissions, applicable warranty and payment terms
DeliveryProduction start, dispatch, freight, destination and required arrival date
ReplenishmentIndividual replacement models, repeat-order quantities and substitution approval

For example, 300 sets containing six knives require 1,800 knives before accessories. That calculation does not establish the factory’s MOQ. Check whether the minimum applies to each blade model, handle color or finished package.

Review each wholesale knife quotation against the complete specification. Keep retail sale prices separate from your negotiated purchase price, and include packaging, freight and sales-channel costs before assessing margin. For a large order, confirm the allocated quantity and dispatch date rather than relying on the consumer store’s stock indicator.

Need More Control Than Branded Resale Allows?

Fixed assortments, resale restrictions and difficult replenishment can limit your margins. Build your own knife set with LeeKnives OEM & ODM—customize the knives, materials, branding and packaging at factory-direct pricing.

Check samples and plan repeat orders

Inspect blade alignment, edge finish, handle joints and safe packaging. Compare samples on the tasks the knives are intended to perform, and record the conditions and observations. A bread knife should be assessed on bread; a paring knife should be controllable during small preparation work.

For production orders, retain an approved sample and packing specification. Agree on measurable tolerances, inspection sampling, substitutions and the remedy for nonconforming goods. For branded products, obtain the replacement SKUs and ask how the distributor handles discontinued lines.

Cleaning, sharpening and warranty support belong in this final comparison. A maintenance benefit is useful only if the customer can follow its conditions and the freight or service charges are understood.

Frequently asked questions

Which manufacturers support private-label kitchen knife sets?

LeeKnives publishes private-label, OEM and ODM services. Match the service to the changes you need: branding an existing design differs from developing new blade shapes or construction. Established consumer brands should be treated as branded-resale options unless they explicitly agree otherwise.

Are advertised set prices wholesale prices?

No. The prices above are public retail or dealer listings for named products. Wholesale prices, account approval, resale rights and any minimum advertised price policy require separate terms. A retail promotion does not prove a trade discount or a sustainable resale margin.

Does an eight-piece set contain eight knives?

Not necessarily. The LeeKnives example contains six knives, scissors and a roll. Shun’s five-piece example contains three knives, a honing steel and a block. Ask for an itemized contents list before comparing piece counts.

Can one knife from a set be replaced?

Some ranges include individual models, and LeeKnives lists individual or bundled purchasing. Obtain the exact replacement SKU, price and minimum reorder quantity. Current availability is not a promise that the same model, finish or packaging will remain unchanged.

Does German steel mean the knife was made in Germany?

No. HENCKELS Classic provides a useful example: the featured knives use German stainless steel and are made in Spain. Product descriptions should distinguish material origin from the country of manufacture.
